JESUS
Do You Know Him?
Do you know for certain that you will go to Heaven when you die? Would you say that is something you are still working on? One thing you can know for sure is God loves YOU.
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
What Is The Gospel?
The word "Gospel" literally means "good news." In order to understand why it's so good, we must first understand the bad news.
1. We All Have Sinned As a result of the fall in the Garden of Eden, mankind has inherently been corrupted by sin. Sin is anything that separates us from God; even the smallest lie misses the mark (the perfect standard) that God has set for us. Because of our sin, we are separated from our Creator and deserve the penalty for our sin, death. “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23 "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23
2. God Sent His Son Even though we can't earn our way back to God or measure up to His perfection, He sent Jesus to come to us! Even though we deserved the death penalty for our sin, Jesus took the penalty. God sent His son, Jesus Christ, to be born of a virgin, live a perfect and holy life, die on the cross, rise from the dead, and conquer our sins. We can be saved by grace through faith in Him! We can depend on Jesus for forgiveness and to give us everlasting life, to spend eternity with Him in Heaven. And to also have a relationship with Him here on Earth. "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 “Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures;” 1 Corinthians 15:3–4 “For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9
3. How Do I receive Eternal Life? Repent What does it mean to repent? It means to do a spiritual U-turn with the help of the Holy Spirit. You turn from sin, and you turn to God. It doesn’t mean you’ll never sin again, but it does mean you are tired of it and don’t want to sin. “Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.” Luke 13:3 Believe Jesus paid the price for you, and that He rose from the dead to give you eternal life. “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.” Acts 16:31 Receive You invite Christ to come into your life, to be your Lord, and your Savior. The moment you call upon His name and receive Him as your Savior, He makes you a new creation. “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.” John 1:12
4. Pray This Prayer "Lord Jesus, I confess that I have sinned against You. I turn from my sin right now. I believe that You died on the cross to pay the penalty for my sins. I receive You as the Lord and Savior of my life. I give my life to You. In Jesus name, Amen.” If you sincerely repented of your sin, put your faith in Christ, and called upon his name to save you, the Bible says you’re a Christian. Old things have passed away, new things have come, and the spirit of God has come to live within you. Welcome to the family of God! Angels in heaven are rejoicing, and we at Liberty would love to rejoice with you as well. If you prayed to receive Christ, please let us know. We would love to thank God for what He’s done in your life. We would also like to send you some free materials that will help you get started in the Christian life.
